Job Brief:
Walinga is currently on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Truck Trailer Service Technician (afternoon shift) who will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Walinga-built and installed equipment, as well as servicing various truck and trailer makes and models.
Principle Roles & Responsibilities:
- Inspecting truck and trailer systems to identify issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Conducting repairs and maintenance on:
- Landing gear assemblies.
- Trailer frames and bodies.
- Hitching and coupling systems.
- Suspension systems, brakes, and wheel ends.
- Air and auxiliary systems.
- ABS braking systems.
- Electrical systems.
- Hydraulic systems.
- Performing aluminum and steel welding tasks as required.
- Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Documenting repair and maintenance activities accurately.
- Collaborating with team members and communicating effectively regarding timelines and repair issues.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of truck and trailer systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and braking components.
- Ability to perform aluminum and steel welding.
- Availability to work the assigned afternoon shift schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational capabilities.
- Effective communication and ability to work both independently and within a team.
Academic and Trades Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a Truck Trailer Service Technician (310J) certificate of qualification or commitment to enrolling in an apprenticeship program to obtain certification.
