What you will be doing
- Collaborate with the Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams to comprehend design requirements, specifications, and performance expectations for feed trailers and related equipment.
- Develop detailed designs, drawings, and layouts using CAD software, ensuring adherence to design standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Select and specify appropriate mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes based on design specifications and performance criteria.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source mechanical components, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Conduct testing and validation of mechanical designs to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal departments, including Manufacturing, R&D, and Customer Support, regarding mechanical design functionality, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Stay updated with advancements in mechanical design technologies, industry standards, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into Walinga's products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Experience in mechanical design, preferably in the manufacturing or agricultural industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (PTC Creo or similar) for mechanical design.
- Familiarity with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements related to mechanical designs in industrial environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical designs that meet or exceed customer expectations.
