Overview
Walinga USA is seeking dedicated first level Trailer Equipment Service Technician I to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and some experience in heavy equipment maintenance. Experience including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical diagnostics for service and repairs is preferred but we are willing to train the right individual(s). This role is essential in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently and meets the highest standards of safety and performance for our customers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review work orders and discuss with the supervisor
  • Change, repair or replace parts and components of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and air systems by using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
  • Test and change repaired systems to the required standards
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on Walinga transportation equipment
  • Advise Supervisor of work performed, general trailer condition and future repairs to be considered
  • Maintain equipment and work area within department in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Participate in skill set and safety training as applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned in various departments as skill set reflects ability

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and one year of equivalent work experienceGood knowledge of hydraulics,pneumatics is an asset
  • Interest in attaining academic qualifications (where requested by Management)
  • Welding skills
  • Experience using tools and equipment common in welding to and repair parts and equipment.
  • Ability to work from drawing and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances and layout of work.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and ability to report unsafe conditions.
  • Willingness to use protective gear
  • Ability to give attention to detail
  • Ability to read, understand and follow English instructions
  • Ability to use hand/power/air tools
  • Good physical health
  • Range or Motion: ability to climb, walk, squat, kneel and perform above shoulder height activity
  • Work in various weld positions (flat and vertical planes, overhead)
  • Lift from floor to waist
  • Lift from waist to shoulder and above shoulder height a maximum of 10 lbs
  • Work in various temperatures, cold and heat
  • Ability to work with or around chemicals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
