Overview
The Walinga Corporate Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing all Walinga logistical operations (fleet, drivers, and

clients for the United States and Canada. Responsibilities include optimizing and controlling corporate logistics costs to meet or
beat department budgets, providing performance measurements to drive improvements and managing the cross border

Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Walinga transportation operations using company trucks, drivers, logistics staff, and third-party carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and trailers.
- Identify and maximize backhaul opportunities in collaboration with regional logistics managers to improve fleet utilization and reduce costs.
- Oversee the Walinga fleet, including maintenance programs, capital expenditures, and equipment replacement planning.
- Lead, hire, train, supervise, and support logistics employees in accordance with Walinga standards, policies, and procedures.
- Develop, propose, and manage logistics budgets while optimizing operational costs for both Walinga Canada and Walinga USA.
- Forecast future logistics, fleet, and transportation needs to ensure operational readiness and long-term efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and strategic planning to enhance logistics performance and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, transportation laws, occupational health and safety requirements, and environmental protection practices.
- Promote workplace safety by enforcing health and safety procedures, providing employee training and protective measures, and addressing workplace hazards proactively.
- Manage logistics schedules, labor allocation, fleet availability, and third-party service providers to ensure efficient and timely job completion.
- Maintain logistics performance metrics and investigate trends in shipment damage, shipping errors, and operational issues to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Ensure export documentation is accurately prepared and submitted to facilitate compliant cross-border transportation of goods.
- Coordinate with supervisors and departments while managing employee work hours, complaints, and safety concerns in alignment with company policies and operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge, training and experience to organize and perform work activity within all departments associated with logistics and shipping.
- Knowledge of applicable safety, applicable relative safety standards and ability to follow-up on unsafe conditions.
- Familiarity with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Manitoba workplace Safety and Healthy Acts and Regulations, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration that apply to the workplace, and know about any actual or potential health and safety hazards in the workplace.
- Proven experience in the supervision of employees.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate skills to include ability to maintain organized documents.
- Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills.
- Complete onboarding, inspection and equipment logs and accidents reports.
- Maintain a working knowledge of company policies and procedures for all manufacturing.
- Ability to give attention to detail.
- Be approachable and empathetic.
- Maintain general knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Experience
- Five years of equivalent work experience in a fabrication or industrial setting specifically associated with managing
- resources and logistics.
- ● Successful completion of supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 steps (Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills
- Development requirement) (Ontario employee only).
- ● Participate in skill set and safety training (Supervisor Competency Training or other) as determined by Management.
- ● Ability to utilize safety data sheets and apply Workplace Hazardous Material Safety Information and training.
