Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and oversee complex general and cost accounting functions. In this pivotal role, you will ensure GAAP compliance within a manufacturing environment, analyze production costs, and drive efficiency across our financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with production teams, support strategic initiatives, and contribute directly to a growing organization committed to excellence and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operations and accounting teams to improve financial performance.
- Performing month-end cost accounting close tasks.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and other departmental reports.
- Monitor the end-to-end accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of vendor payments and customer billings.
- Analyze and determine departmental & corporate labor and overhead rates.
- Analyze and develop standard costs (and pricing) of manufactured goods.
- Participate in data collection & evaluation; propose corrective action/improvements.
- Work with the accounting team to analyze expenses and prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
- Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.
- Assist with fixed asset management, depreciation schedules, and financial returns on manufacturing equipment investments.
- Assist in the annual external review process, including the preparation of review schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and reporting standards.
- Cross-train and provide back-up support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 5+ years of accounting experience (Manufacturing environment preferred).
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate intermediate computer skills, including spreadsheet knowledge, with the ability to learn new systems.
- Perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to interface with customers in a professional and courteous manner
