Overview

Walinga USA, a leader in the agricultural equipment industry, is seeking dedicated Service Technician to join our growing team. If you’re hands-on, love problem-solving, and want to be part of a dynamic team that values craftsmanship and innovation, this role is for you. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and some experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. This role is essential in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently and meets the highest standards of safety and performance for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and air systems using tools and specialized equipment
  • Test and optimize systems to meet Walinga standards.
  • Advise supervisors on work performed and general trailer conditions and recommend future repairs that may be required.
  • Participate and specialized training for Walinga Transportation and pneumatic conveying equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace that adheres to safety standards.
  • Perform other duties across departments as needed based on your skill set

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Mechanical repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, and 12-volt electrical systems (preferred).
  • Welding experience and familiarity with welding tools/equipment is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and English instructions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Driver’s License is an asset
  • Ability to climb, walk, kneel, squat, and perform overhead work.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various temperatures.

Training Provided

  • Specialized Walinga training (may require travel to Sioux Center, Iowa and/or Wayland, Michigan)
  • OSHA Compliance
  • Lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Crane operation (as required)
  • Confined space safety
  • Forklift operation (as required)
  • Working at heights (as required)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • ASTM Certified Safety Footwear
  • Coveralls / Uniform as provided by Walinga
  • Custom molded earplugs (optional)
  • Safety glasses
  • Other: as specified for work activity and as reflects company policy

Experience

  • Hydraulics: 1 year (Preferred)
  • pneumatics: 1 year (Preferred)
  • mig welding: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)
