Overview

Walinga is currently on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Designer Co-op to join our dynamic team. As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative feed trailers and various agricultural equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the success of a leading manufacturing company in the agricultural industry.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs, drawings, and layouts using CAD software, ensuring adherence to design standards and manufacturing requirements.
  • Select and specify appropriate mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes based on design specifications and performance criteria.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source mechanical components, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Conduct testing and validation of mechanical designs to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal departments, including Manufacturing, R&D, and Customer Support, regarding mechanical design functionality, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Stay updated with advancements in mechanical design technologies, industry standards, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into Walinga's products.

Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (PTC Creo or similar) for mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical designs that meet or exceed customer expectations.
