Overview
The MR Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing material requirements to support production schedules, meet customer demands, and ensure the efficient use of inventory and resources. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with various departments, including procurement, inventory management, production, and logistics.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage the Purchasing MRP and generate timely purchase orders and internal job orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and adequate supply of materials for production and Sales Orders.
- Support “inventory control” by suggesting planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, order quantities) to ensure appropriate supply
- Request for intra-corporate material transfers through internal purchase orders to ensure materials are available on time to support production and customer requirements.
- Evaluate intra-corporate material requests to maintain optimal material availability.
- Monitor intra-corporate material shortages and backorders, coordinating with other locations to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth operation of the production process.
- Act as the communication link between Purchasing and Production/ AMPS to align material priorities and availability.
- Escalate material shortage concerns to relevant stakeholders as required and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
- Work closely with inventory management to monitor stock levels and ensure that inventory is sufficient to meet production needs without overstocking.
- Recommend and implement changes to optimize production flow and increase efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance production efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in purchasing and production processes.

- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and methods.
- In depth understanding of industry production techniques and practices.
- Ability to work independently but provide support to the team.
