Overview
Reporting to the Corporate Logistics Manager, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading all day-to-day transportation operations for Walinga USA locations. The position will be responsible for efficient movement of finished products, trailers and materials while providing direct leadership to company drivers and coordinating third-party transportation providers. The Logistics Supervisor will focus on safety, customer service, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting the strategic goals of the logistics department.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all inbound, outbound, interplant, and customer deliveries.
- Create and maintain driver schedules, and dispatch daily work.
- Maximize utilization of company trucks, trailers, drivers, and third-party carriers.
- Develop backhaul opportunities to reduce empty miles and transportation costs.
- Onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate drivers based in the USA according to Walinga standards and processes.
- Ensure supervisory compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Understanding, implementation, and diligent adherence of determined practices for environmental protection.
- Prepare and coordinate export/customs documentation and main point of contact with customs brokers.
- Monitor fleet maintenance schedule, DOT inspections, and equipment records.
- Track logistics KPIs including on-time delivery, equipment utilization, freight costs, and safety performance.
- Investigate shipping errors, freight damage, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and improve logistics SOPs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production, Sales, Service, Purchasing, and other departments as required.
- Provide administrative support to the Corporate Logistics Manager.
Qualifications
- Logistics, transportation, or fleet operations experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and cross-border transportation requirements.
- Proficiency with excel and computer literacy.
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Approachable, supportive, and empathetic

- Critical thinking and basic math skills.
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Follows safety required and wears protective gear as needed.
- Maintain a working knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Complete training and work in compliance for US OSHA and Regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the employer.
- Report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.
- Work in a safe manner as required by the employer and use the prescribed safety equipment
- Inspect and organize replacement/fix of any missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous.
- Participate in the workplace health and safety activities.
