Overview
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting, selling and supporting Walinga's Engineered Transportation Equipment product line in the Midwest region of Wisconsin, Illinois and Eastern Iowa. The representative will be working directly with customers and dealers throughout all stages of the sales process, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Understanding and familiarity of the agriculture sector, particularly bulk grain hopper trailers, with a passion for innovation agribusiness.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate product specifications and identifying tailored solutions for their applications.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions, and participate in related events such as factory tours, industry events, and trade shows.
- Support customers during unit commissioning, start-up, and post-delivery service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information in the Walinga Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- High level of technical aptitude
- Logistics experience preferred
- Proficient organizational and administrative abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; willing to travel 40%-60% within Canada and the US.
- Skilled at understanding customer needs and product applications.
Qualifications
- Strong technical proficiency in the organization’s products, their applications, and the ability to learn and explain complex systems.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach to delivering effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel for customer visits, training sessions, and industry events as required.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and platforms related to the role.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in equipment manufacturing or industrial systems.
- Commitment to aligning all business actions with corporate strategy, ethics, and environmental policies and procedures.
Training Provided
- Quoting Practices: Able to efficiently use Walinga’s SAPPS tool.
- HMI control systems: Able to provide guidance to users.
- FeedLok: Able to provide guidance to users.
- Commissioning Practices: Able to develop, train, and execute on Walinga’s start-up practices.

Experience
- Relevant education or equivalent experience in sales, business, or agriculture-related fields is an asset.
- 3+ years of sales experience preferred.
