Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility infrastructure.
• Perform maintenance mechanic duties
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn-out machine components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to aid in troubleshooting.
• Conduct welding, fabricating, and machining tasks as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance processes and procedures.

In the Supervisor’s absence:

• Schedule repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations
• Assist Plant Manager as required with activities of maintenance employees fabricating or modifying machines, tools or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products
• Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations
• Inspects operating machines and equipment to ensure it is in full conjunction with operational and safety standards
• Discuss equipment needs and modifications with Plant Manager, as required
• Requisitions tools and equipment, and supplies required for maintenance operations
• Assist with training of personnel on new equipment
• Confers and Management, Engineering, and Quality Assurance personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic, industrial mechanic, or in a related role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance record-keeping.
• Physical Requirements:
• Range or Motion: ability to climb, walk, squat, kneel and perform above shoulder height activity.
• Work in various weld positions (flat and vertical planes, overhead).
• Lift from floor to waist.
• Lift from waist to shoulder and above shoulder height a maximum of 10 lbs.
• Work in various temperatures.
• Ability to work with or around chemicals.
• Willingness to use protective gear
